Akasha Barrel Room Exclusive Tasting
We’re kicking off the Pint of Origin week with a very special chance to try the Akasha Barrel Room beers!
Founded in 2015 in Sydney's Five Dock, Akasha has helped spearhead Australia's blossoming love affair with high quality, hop forward beer, rapidly becoming one of the most celebrated and successful independent breweries in the country.
Despite their love for big hoppy IPA's, Barrel-Aged beers have always been a massive passion for the team at Akasha. In November last year, the team made the decision to expand their hospitality offering to Leichhardt, opening the Barrel Room by Akasha, a unique hospitality offering that showcases their Barrel-Aged beers and passion for the very best in premium small batch craft brewing. Brewed with pride, passion and precision, their evolving range of barrel aged beers represents the finest, most refined flavours that premium craft brewing can offer. Each beer is a genuine small batch product, brewed in strictly limited quantities and aged in various types of barrels, from old Pedro Ximénez to Jack Daniels barrels, for added depth and complexity on the palate.
Ordinarily, these beers are only available strictly at The Barrel Room in Leichhardt. But for one night only, you'll have the chance to try them without traveling to Sydney.
Join Dave from Akasha at as he pours a selection of Barrel Aged beers from a very limited amount of bottles we got our hands on. We'll also have a selection of Akasha favourites on tap.
Barrel Room beers being poured (from 4pm):
-
PX Barrel Aged Triple Amber Ale, 10.5% ABV
-
Jack Daniel's Barrel Aged Belgian Quadruple, 10.5% ABV
-

Beers on tap (from 12pm)
There are no tickets for this event, but Dave will be pouring The Barrel Room beers in the front bar from 4pm until our limited stock runs out. Be sure to book a table!

Slow Lane Melbourne Birthday Party
Slow Lane makes beer a little differently to most. They have a passion for European beer styles that benefit from Old World methods. They’re not averse to using modern techniques, or experimenting with different yeasts. But where traditional methods produce better flavours or a unique effect, they’ll stand firm. Even if they’re more labour intensive. Even if they take longer. Their small size makes it possible for them to use these more labour and time intensive methods that most modern breweries have abandoned in favour of more efficient industrialised processes. They naturally carbonate their beers through can and keg conditioning. Many of their beers are open fermented leading to healthier yeast and more fermentation character. Some of their beers are also fermented with mixed cultures of wild yeast and bacteria and aged in oak barrels.
The brewery celebrated its 3rd birthday in Sydney last week and now the Slow Lane crew are coming to Melbourne to pour 3 of their very special birthday release beers on tap. So get down to Miss Moses Bar & Bottle-O to say happy birthday to Slow Lane founder Alex Jarman and sample some of the very best from Botany!
