How To Pint of Origin!

If you're wondering how to make the most of the festival, help is at hand!

Since debuting in 2012, Pint of Origin has proven to be one of those concepts that just works. But if you're a newcomer in 2026, you may well be wondering: "How does it work?"

In its simplest form, it works like this: pubs, bars and breweries across Melbourne showcase beers from different regions of Australia and the world; you visit them and try beers you might never otherwise get the chance to sample. What's more, it might lead you to a new favourite venue you didn't know about before.

But there's more to it than that, not least in how attendees have embraced getting out and about with mates to visit a few host venues over the course of the ten days – often with a theme for their group to embrace.

And if you really want to make the most of it, you should register for a free digital passport. With these, you can collect stamps at venues as you go, earning bonus drinks as you go. Check out this short reel for more on using #PoO26 Passports.

PLUS! They open up access to heaps of prizes: just by signing up you go into a draw to win a $1000 home kegerator setup from KegLand; complete any of the five Crawls and you could win one of a stack of cases from Stomping Ground, Boatrocker, Feral, Bridge Road Brewers, SURE and Double Vision Brewing (NZ).

New in 2026, grab a coffee from Proud Mary Coffee in Collingwood between May 15 and 24 and you'll go into a draw to win a prize from the legendary roasters too. What's more, share your adventures on socials and you could win a Golden Ticket for the 2027 festival too!

Happy travels!
