Pint of Origin

More Than Beer

As the festival's name suggests, Pint of Origin is very much a celebration of the wide world of beer. But over the years, it's become much more than that too.

Whether that's down to the creative events put on by host venues – on-the-bar curling with cans at the Canadian venue one year, fishing inside a pub with Sailors Grave another, and so on – or the arrival of a Boilermaker Hub in 2024 plus the amazing food pairings served up throughout the festival means there's plenty on offer for those seeking something more than beer.

In 2025, that's set to step up another notch too as we welcome the first Pint of Origin Beer Cocktail Hub too. The team at Captain Melville have been developing an array of amazing beer cocktails and are excited to showcase them for festival attendees.

As for the Boilermaker Hub – back at one of the world's great whisky bars, Whisky & Alement – look out for their 2025 lineup featuring stunning whiskies from Japan and across Australia.

Last year I had my first ever boilermaker at Whisky and Alement. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I loved the staff as they were really helpful in describing the whisky and how it works. Cannot wait to get back there – and I'm also looking forward to having my first ever beer cocktail!

And there’s more to get excited about than what’s in your glass: this year’s events bring together top venues, creative pairings and seriously good bites to match the world-class beers pouring.

At Carwyn Cellars, the Fifty-Fifty Barrel Aged Tailgate Party & Dinner blends bougie American cookout vibes with complex barrel-aged brews from the States, paired to perfection by Advanced Cicerone Tito Orellana.

Mr West is getting playful with Anything from the trolley? – pairing Vault City’s vaunted pastry sours from the UK with the desserts and lollies that inspired them.

Benchwarmer will be pairing izakaya dishes from their new head chef with Japanese craft beers.

Bridge Road Brewers Brunswick welcome Sailors Grave for a tap takeover and regional-inspired set menu. Expect native ingredients, East Gippsland flavours, and a chance to hear from the brewers themselves.

And at Benchwarmer, things get fancy with a five-course paired degustation featuring rare barrel-aged beers from Offtrail (Yamanashi) and one-off izakaya dishes from chef Geoff Marett (ex-Yardbird).

Whether you're here for the pairings, the stories, or just a flavourful feed, Pint of Origin 2025 is more than beer!

Just get out there and enjoy Pint of Origin. It's always a great time in the city, we love it!
