The Local Taphouse is a neighbourhood tavern specialising in craft beer, great food and a warm welcome! Since opening in 2008, The Local Taphouse has become one of the most awarded craft beer venues in Australia, even going on to grab the title of RateBeer’s Best Bar in Australia in 2020. On any given day, you’ll find unique and exciting craft beers from all over the world across our 20+ taps, while bringing local craft to the forefront and sharing our love for craft in every shape and form with the community.
And our Pint of Origin showcase is as local as it comes! For our big PoO debut, we’re tapping the best beers from breweries within 90 minutes of Melbourne. We’ll be featuring 20 different brews from 20 different breweries, including a special collaboration between Blackman’s Brewery and The Local Taphouse launching on the 12th May.
We will be running our regular food specials, trivia and comedy night during Pint of Origin as well as a special edition of our beer appreciation night Alestars: Daytrippers Edition on the 16th May.
So come on down to the Taphouse during the festival and sample some of the best brews our little beauty of a state has to offer!

Alestars: Daytrippers Edition
With our Pint of Origin showcase kicking off on Friday, we're carrying the theme through to our next Ale Stars Beer Appreciation Night. Get into our special edition Pint of Origin Ale Stars: Daytrippers on Tuesday 16th May.
We're bringing not one, but FOUR breweries from rural VIC (daytrippers) to chat all things beer, brewing and their love for local.
